asked in Q&A:

When I saw
” Invalid system disk?
Disk 1/0 error?
Replace the disk, then press any key”
I asked u people. U sujested to replace Hard drive. I replaced with a same GB H disk& pressed one key, but It says ” primary hard disk drive 0 not found” when i pressed F1 as it said, I could see “3com PXE, Version 0.99j.02
copyright (c) 1997,1998 Intel corporation, all right reserved.
(c)copyright 1998 LAN works TEC: CO:
a subsidary of 3com corp:
after a while
PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable.
PXE-M0F: exiting PXE
if i press F1 i will get the same message, F2 takes me to the set up utility(windows 98, intel,P2, 4.2 GB H disk)
when i use the old ( reportedly crashed) H disk, in the setup, in the boot sequense we can see a sign like ‘J’ attached with a sign(-) on the top IE ….{J1.Hard disk drive C: J2. PXE}
but with the new H disk-in the boot sequence-only {J2. PXE}. I cant replce now Floppy drive & CD financially if so, can I do it all with an other PC (Xp)?
in this PC I have only one H disk and now I am trying to get it replaced with an another ONE

Sorry your question is little bit confusing to me for what the problem is what are you trying to do.

You do know we are in 2007 right? i don’t know why you are trying to do anything with windows 98?

Anyways when do you get that error when you boot , when you first start the pc, what options do you have? how many hard drives do you have attached to your pc ? if 1 is that one Master Drive meaning there is a pin on the back you have to make it as Master or just remove the pin if you are using only 1 hard drive, after that got any bootable cd’s so you can load operating system…those are some of the questions i would answer first….once you answer that , people like i get the picture and can resolve your problem :)

ill try and explain it as simple as i can..
if you want to change your hard disc,
    1. turn off and unplug computer from electrcty
    2. take out u’r H.disc
    3. put new one in
    4. turn computer on
    5. put cd windows in
    6. reset/ restart
    7. go to bios mode by pressing ‘delete’
    8. find ‘boot’
    9. choose boot from cd
    10. exit and save settings
when computer starts booting from windows cd, just follow the steps. if all still fails, just sell it, and get a new one. hehe, but all the luck for u!
