		<description>The above are correct, but if you want to stay on XP and keep your data without loosing hours to make backups and then reinstall, there is a service that would repair an XP machine in about 30 minutes without loosing any of your files.

		<description>If you&#039;ve gone that far, it&#039;d be better to reinstall the O/S completely instead of trying to &quot;patch&quot; fix the registry. 

Back up all the programs and data files, then do the &quot;nuke it from orbit&quot; reinstall. :)</description>

The best thing you can do is to reinstall your operating system. If you don&#039;t have a disc put Linux on it. Try Xubuntu, it will run on anything and be fast.
