Try sticking a Windows CD into the drive on boot up and then running the recovery console. This should work but it may also mean cause to loose some of your work.
Run a repair install
1.Download the some registry cleaner and system restore software and run it to fix vital Windows errors.
2.You must have an anti-virus, a firewall and at least two firewall on your computer. Regularly update them, and scan your computer for spyware every 4-5 days and for viruses every 9-10 days.
3.If you don’t have any or all of these security software, then you can get these any of those free security software:
AVG anti-virus
Ad-Aware
AVG anti-spyware 7.5
Comodo Personal Firewall
Never use more than one anti-virus or firewall. There is a good possibility that they will fight each other. However, you can use as many anti-spywares as you wish.
